November, 2008 - IIACF hosts UNRWA luncheon at EFI Policy Conference - Paris, France
Members of the IIACF gathered with over 250 European and European Union parliamentarians at a special IIACF-held luncheon of the European Friends of Israel Policy Conference in Paris, France, on November 7, 2008. MK Benny Elon, MP Paulo Casaca and MP Hannu Takkula, along with experts on the issue presented reports on UNRWA to the assembly. Speakers highlighted the fact that the international community continues to direct billions of dollars to the United Nations for aid to Palestinian refugees, yet the refugee crisis continues to grow in severity and size. Speakers suggested that a NEW humanitarian solution to the Palestinian refugee crisis is the best approach to resolving an intolerable situation not only for the refugees themselves, but for the bordering nations and the international community.
